Thief of Gaming Chips Wanted
The robbery occurred in the parking structure at the Hard Rock Hotel & Casino Atlantic City in March 2023.
Reed and the victim initially encountered each other on the casino floor. The individual had secured $20K during a game of poker. Reed informed his targeted victim that he required a lift after failing to catch a public bus. The victim consented, and they both entered the garage.
Reed struck the man on the head with a wine bottle. He sustained injuries that were not specified. Reed then took $10K and personal belongings from the victim.
During the court session, State Superior Court Judge Jeffrey Wilson reduced the sum Reed is required to pay since he was unable to afford the stolen sum of $10,000, as reported by NJ.com, a local news source.
In May, Reed was convicted of robbery, aggravated assault, theft, and weapon-related charges. According to the report, he might have received a 10-year prison sentence.
If Reed finishes his probationary period successfully, the charges on his criminal record will be removed.
Reed's situation was referred to a recovery court, a program designed for convicts dealing with substance addiction. He was freed from detention in December.
